Hiring & onboarding FAQs

The legal reason is that (in Canada) a description of the work to be performed by the employee is a legal requirement in every employment agreement. The practical reason is that up-to-date position descriptions are useful in a whole bunch of different contexts - recruitment (to share with candidates so that they understand the job), performance management (to hold employees accountable for what they are/aren’t doing), and restructuring (to clearly capture changes to your structure), to name a few!

Yes! One of MyHR’s HR experts will prepare an employment contract, customised to your business, for each new hire. On average, we prepare over 400 employment contracts per week for our clients! With custom clauses for your business, your agreements are up-to-date with relevant legislation and are delivered ready for your digital signature. A review of your existing/contracts is all part of the complete HR Health Check we conduct with every business who joins MyHR.

Once you’ve added your new starter to MyHR, we handle the production of the employment/contract through to digital signing, before kicking off a digital onboarding plan. Once a manager has initiated the employee onboarding, the MyHR platform automates the creation, assignment, tracking, and completion of induction tasks and the provision of digital documents. No more paper-based plans and documentation - your employees get a tailored, engaging, digital onboarding experience.

Onboarding plans can include a welcome message, important documents for your employee to review and sign (like your company handbook and H&S policies), links to training materials (including videos), and individually assigned tasks for your new hire or manager to complete (like ordering PPE or setting them up in your internal systems). Reminders are automated for the whole onboarding period so that at the end of their first few months, your new starter is fully onboarded and can seamlessly move into their first performance review cycle.
